The Loudoun Community Health Center’s Free School Physicals Days were a resounding success! Our practitioners saw more than 165 children—most were 5-year-olds entering kindergarten.
The school physicals, which included vision and hearing screenings, lead and TB tests, and developmental testing in addition to individual check-ups with doctors, were offered completely free of charge. At a private practice, a school physical might cost upwards of $200 or more.
Many thanks to the volunteers who helped by escorting children through the school physical process, gave out snacks to the little ones, and helped keep order to this wonderfully hectic event. And thanks to the volunteer nurses and other health care professionals who offered their skills.
