— We've cared for more than 500 babies.
— We welcomed to our staff Dr. Tom McGorry, one of Loudoun's most beloved pediatricians with more than 35 years of experience.

"Expansion of Clinics Shape Bush Legacy"
Proving that quality health care transcends politics, an intriguing article appeared in the New York Times on Dec. 26, 2008, highlighting the successful increase in the number of Community Health Centers nationwide. The new Obama Administration is equally supportive and has indicated futher expansion. It is clear that the Loudoun Community Health Center is well positioned to become one of our community's most valuable assets.

Get to know the Loudoun Community Health Center
We are proud of the care the Loudoun Community Health Center is providing to so many medically underserved families. We truly are a "community" health center -- a medical home to our neighbors who otherwise have few, or no options for healthcare. We see patients of all ages and with diverse medical conditions. One moment we are seeing a newborn for a well-child visit and the next we're stabilizing a patient with a heart attack. Everyday we face the challenge of helping adults and children who have multiple uncontrolled or complex chronic illnesses. The most common conditions we treat include diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, heart disease ... and depression -- all of which hold the potential to be life-threatening. One mother, prior to coming to the Loudoun Community Health Center, was paying $500 per month for her eight-year-old son's seizure medication, because this is the only option she had to keep her son alive, yet she struggled to pay rent each month. Now, because he is under our care, this little boy's medication is free. We have diagnosed patients with cancer who are now receiving the treatment they need. Without us, these cancers may have gone undetected until more dangerously advanced, since the high cost of medical care precluded these patients from being able to afford a doctor visit and diagnostic testing elsewhere. We recently diagnosed a four-year-old child with a hole in her heart. We arranged for a specialist to perform surgery and the tiny heart was successfully repaired. This little girl is now thriving. Other patients we have helped over the past few months include a 55-year-old man who had life-threatening anemia; a two-month old baby with a brain tumor; and a nine-year-old child with extensive burns to 45 percent of his body.
Just as our patients rely on us, we also rely on the generosity of our supporters to help us continue providing care to the medically underserved in our community. You can make a difference in the lives of our patients by donating to the Loudoun Community Health Center. | |

We closed 2008 having cared for more than 5,000 patients, most of whom would not have been able to afford medical care without the Loudoun Community Health Center.
Our commitment is to provide our patients with the best care possible, whenever they need it, in a setting that is cheerful, convenient and comfortable.
I'm so proud of the Loudoun Community Health Center's dedicated team of highly-trained doctors and nurses. They provide a wide range of services, including pediatrics, adult medicine, ob/gyn, mental health services, and lab work -- all on a sliding fee scale that anyone can afford.
But we couldn't do any of it without your help. Thank you for supporting the Loudoun Community Health Center. We look forward to the coming year as we continue to make a difference in the lives of thousands!
Warm Regards,
Debra Dever, CEO Loudoun Community Health Center
