What is a Community Health Center?
Community Health Centers are nonprofit, community-based primary health care delivery organizations supported, in part, by federal funds. This health care model was authorized under the Consolidated Health Center Programs of section 330 of the Public Health Service Act, administered by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Bureau of Primary Health Care. Community Health Center funds are initially granted through a competitive process.  Other funding is garnered from third party payors like private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, patient payments, other Federal and state grants, foundations, and local fundraising.

Are you the same as the free clinic?
No. The Loudoun Community Health Center is not affiliated with the Loudoun Community Free Clinic. Unlike the free clinic, which is only open two nights during the week, we are open 5 days a week. Additionally, we see patients of all ages – including children and senior citizens – and do not limit our patients only to adults ages 18-64, as the free clinic does.  The free clinic only treats patients without insurance, whereas LCHC accepts all patients -- those with Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, no insurance or those who are simply underinsured.  To find out more about the Loudoun Community Free Clinic, visit ww.loudounfreeclinic.org/default.asp.
